Heliski operators first met in the 1980s to discuss forming an industry body to set standards . Over twenty years later the Industry has grown and now caters for thousands of guests per season .

In 2008 guides met again and agreed that the industry needed a more structured approach. A Code of Practice has been established to set benchmark standards for the NZ Heliski industry .This has been formally adopted and is now in place as the industry standard.

Members are committed to the groups objectives and are allowed to display the NZHOG logo and link to the NZHOG site.
